David Engstrom specializes in business litigation.  He has helped clients protect and enforce intellectual property and contract rights.  The types of intellectual property litigation he has handled includes misappropriation of trade secrets, and claims of trademark and copyright infringement.  He has litigated complex breach of contract actions, including partnership, investment management, and product development disputes. 

Mr. Engstrom has defended clients in class action and other cases alleging a variety of antitrust claims, including unfair competition conspiracies, price fixing, market allocation, exclusive dealing, and monopolization.  He also has represented clients in investigations involving antitrust issues initiated by the federal government.

In addition, Mr. Engstrom has defended professionals, including lawyers, investment managers, officers and directors, in litigation alleging breach of the standard of care and breach of fiduciary duty.  He has represented clients in securities fraud, whistleblower, employment discriminaation, and other general business injury litigation.  Mr. Engstrom counsels clients on risks related to competitive and employment matters.  He conducts internal investigations, and has advised corporate boards on investigations of alleged corporate wrongdoing.   

Mr. Engstrom has represented technology, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and chemical companies, as well as manufacturers, financial institutions and professionals.  He has achieved dismissals of cases before trial, and has received defense verdicts in cases that have gone to trial.
